Hello all. New to the forum so I thought I'd say hi. I'm testing 3 things here: uploading a file directly from my mobile browser; translating a 3D AC .dwg to a BCC native file; and zipping a file which I haven't tried before. Let me know what you get. Look forward to sharing and gleaning a bit of info about BCC V21.
This is a Fatboy wheel drawn with actual dimensions on a customer's AC2000. I did this about 7 years ago. I'm self taught so my methods are very crude but I usually end up getting something in the ballpark. Enjoy! |

Hey Boston, thanks. That is actually a rear wheel for a Harley Davidson Fatboy, although I am working on a complete CAD bike just for fun and to build a custom bike. It's always been good practice for me doing something I enjoy to learn the software. "Playing", as I heard someone refer to in another thread, always gets me there.
This is my first (semi) complicated solid drawn completely in BCC. Layers were new to me until I watched the 10 CD training videos. I can't imagine working without them now. My method for drawing is to create construction solids as I go. That way if I add a fillet somewhere and I decide I need to change it later, I can just reuse my "building blocks" insead of having to completely redraw. Layers allow me to do this without having multiple saved copies. I felt like an idiot when I realized how easy layers were. This is a throttle grip for a motorcycle using revolved, extruded, and primitive solids. Again, you could make a very usable part from this file. |

SBC your appoach is much like mine. I have files that are like solids of cap screw and dowel. that I been saving as a I done my work over the year. Now if I doing a drawing I will just copy and paste solid where I need them. Your work looks good. P;aying with the software is one of the ways to learn. Your trying to make part that interest to learn. So it makes it a little more fun.
