after pulling out the stock tb it has two circle ports side by side. It is more like an oval just not connected in the middle. The original intake manny went over the valve cover and the tb sat on top of the valve cover. The new one i want to make would be sitting towards the front of the engine off the passenger side. The engine sits longitudinal rather than a transverse pattern. The guys over at cnczone say this engine will not work properly with a big throttle body like this, but how do the older four banger mustangs and focuses work with them? the focus is a 2.0 and has a 75mm available and mine has been stroked to a 2.3. By the way mine is not a ford engine. it is a mazda 2.0. Any comments? my post on cnczone is under the i.c engines.

After more research i may scale this down to a 62-65mm butterfly opening tapering out to a 75mm main opening for clamping to my charge tube.

The Ford Focus has Cylinder Size, Different Heads, CAM, Exaust Manifolds, and Higher Compression Ratio. That may be why. If you remember from what I told you in post #2 "Too Much Air Could Be a Bad Thing As Well As Too Little".

I will have to dig out my old books concerning CFM vs Cubic Engine Volume and the Formula that will tell you what you need to know.

Think of an Engine as a Big Air Compressor

And Get a "Desk Top Dyno" computer program to play with different configurations.

yea i remember what you said. However the first (75mm) setup that i saw for the focus was drag only. It was for wot. The new idea seems to mesh more with a performance and drivability. Here are the oem pics and the blue i will be anodizing it.

Ok I looked at your Pics and have a few questions.

1) Do you want to keep both Ventry or make it a Single Ventry?

2) WHat type of Measuring Instruments do you have to get your Geometry?

3) Do you have Material like Aluminum 7075 to make this?

I am making it a single butterfly opening. What measuring instruments would you like? I have a vast assortment. Digital and anologe calipers, and micrometers, granite base height gauge is what i figured i would use the most. I am going to use machine wax to make the prototype parts but yes i have 6061 and a few bigger peices of 7000 series around.

nope i needed to make sure i have a good plan before i go designing something that has no chance of working. As soon as i figure out the sizing of the tb opening I will start with a backplate, mounting, and the round for the charge pipe connection. From there i am going to put the hole in for the shaft, tps, and butterfly. Last i will do the inside taper. I still need to figure out how the butterfly seals in the ventury.
